Cognac Noah 5 years gift. Cognac Noy - types, description and how to distinguish a fake. How to distinguish fake Noah cognac and not run into a fake

The collection of cognacs "Noah" from the Yerevan Cognac-Wine-Vodka Factory "Ararat" is named after the biblical Noah, who, according to legend, after the flood, planted the first grape vines in the valley of Mount Ararat, becoming the "progenitor" of viticulture and winemaking in Armenia.
The 5-year-old Noy Podarochny cognac owes its softness and silky texture to the aging of grape spirits in charred oak barrels. Skillfully collected into one blend, the spirits are at least 5 years old. The taste of cognac speaks about the level of skill of Armenian specialists. Cognac is good as a digestif and in various cocktails.

Cognac production in Armenia began back in 1887, when Nerses Tairyan, a merchant of the first guild, built a wine and vodka factory, where Armenian cognacs were first produced. And it was then that innovations and technologies were born, which are still a hallmark of Armenian cognac production. Later, the company was acquired by the owners of the famous Russian partnership “N.L. Shustov and sons". Ararat cognacs gained such popularity that after some time the company became the official supplier of the Court of His Imperial Majesty, and in 1902 the plant’s cognac won the Grand Prix in Paris, which became proof of the highest quality of the drink, and the French allowed it to bear the proud name “Cognac” instead of "Brandy".

In mid-1948, the former Shustov plant was reorganized and divided into two independent units - the Yerevan Wine Factory and the Yerevan Brandy Factory (EKZ), which until 1991 was a monopolist in the production of cognac. After the abolition of the monopoly, the Yerevan Wine Factory began to revive the rich traditions of cognac production, restoring, with the help of old manuscripts, museum exhibits, family archives, the invaluable experience and the lost and lost by this time glorious name of Armenian cognac. In 2001, the owner of the plant became the Armenian concern "Multi Group", which renamed the production into the Yerevan Cognac-Wine-Vodka Plant "Ararat". About $50 million was invested in the restoration, construction and acquisition of a new bottling line and oak barrels. According to the surviving fragments, many technologies and recipes were developed again. Today the plant's assortment includes Armenian cognacs under the "Noy" brand: "Noy Araspel" ("Legend of Noah") - ordinary (3 and 5 years old), "Noy Classic" - vintage (7-20 years old) and "Noy Vlastelin is a super premium cognac. The enterprise has unique reserves of century-old wines and ancient cognacs, preserved in the cellars of the plant. Since 2006, EKVVK "Ararat" with its high-quality "Noah" collection has become the exclusive supplier of the Kremlin.

The collection of cognacs “NOY” is the pride of EKVVKA, and the brand “NOY”, known in many countries of the world, is the flagship and calling card. The NOY Gift line was developed for regional distribution in addition to the NOY Araspel, NOY Traditional and Legends of Sevan lines to provide a wide palette and richness of choice. Cognac “NOY Gift” combines the highest quality of the “NOY” cognac line and a bright, ceremonial design designed to make this drink a memorable gift and highlight its unique features. Positioning of cognac “NOY Gift” – cognac of exclusive quality at an affordable price.

Manufacturer

The first cognac enterprise in Armenia was founded in 1877 by the merchant of the first guild Nerses Tairov. In 1898, Tairov sold his enterprise to a major Russian industrialist Nikolai Shustov. Soon Shustov’s cognac began to enjoy great popularity in Russia and abroad. After the revolution, in 1920, the Shustov enterprise was nationalized by the government of the first Armenian Republic, and the plant was revived under the name “ARARAT Wine and Cognac Trust”. Subsequently, the first Armenian cognac production plant was named Yerevan Cognac-Wine-Vodka Factory ARARAT. Sir Winston Churchill became a great admirer of Shustovsky cognac, to whom 400 bottles were sent a year. In 2001, Mr. G. Tsarukyan, founder and president of the Multi Group concern, became the private owner of the Yerevan Cognac-Wine-Vodka Factory ARARAT. This became a new era of renaissance for the plant. Over the course of two years, restoration of old production shops and construction of new ones were carried out, bottling lines were updated, and new oak barrels were purchased. Since 2006, the Yerevan Cognac-Wine-Vodka Factory ARARAT, continuing the traditions of N. Shustov as a Supplier to the court of His Imperial Majesty, was honored to become the official Supplier of the Kremlin.

The color of this drink deserves special attention, which becomes more saturated every year, thereby highlighting the nobility of this cognac.

Unlike other types, only white vintage grapes are used in the production of this drink. There is a belief that Noah was the first person to plant a vine of this berry. In fact, this is where the name comes from. Despite the fact that the cognac producer Noy is located in Armenia, it is exported throughout the CIS, EU countries and America in fairly large quantities. This recognition was achieved due to its excellent quality, which is confirmed by a large number of awards and prizes at international competitions and an affordable price.

What kind of drink is there?

Currently, the cognac of this brand has various varieties, including:

  • Noah Araspel;
  • Noah classic;
  • Noah is traditional.

Each species has its own unique characteristics. The only thing they have in common is high quality.

Araspel

Cognac Noy Araspel comes in three-year and five-year varieties. Both types have a refined amber color and a very mild taste. The bouquet of this cognac does not open immediately. Having opened the treasured bottle and poured the drink into a glass, light notes of vanilla are immediately felt. Having taken the first sip, you can immediately feel the heat, since cognac is a rather strong drink. However, after the second small sip, a velvety taste is felt, characterized by a combination of vanilla and chocolate. The aftertaste is one of those things for which this alcohol is loved. In the case of Noy Araspel cognac, it lasts quite long, which is characteristic only of good drinks.

Noah Araspel is bottled for five years and three years at one of the largest alcohol production plants in Armenia in 0.5 liter bottles. The manufacturer uses products only from the best vineyards, for which the Armenian climate is perfect.

Classic

Noy classic cognac is aged for 7 years, which, coupled with its excellent taste, allows this drink to be classified in the premium segment. Having previously warmed this cognac in a glass, already on the second sip you can feel a rather subtle combination of vanilla and tart chocolate, which opens up perfectly if you hold the drink in your mouth a little or roll it on your tongue. In addition, Noah classic is famous for its oak aftertaste, which can make even the most selective lovers of strong alcohol close their eyes and feel a little bliss. Noah classic costs a little more than other types of this brand, but this is justified by the high quality of the product. Gift cognac - what could be better as a present for a near and dear person?! Especially if it's seven-year-old Noah.

Traditional

Traditional Noy cognac is recognized as one of the most popular types of Armenian cognac. The same exquisite combination of vanilla and tart chocolate and a long oak aftertaste, multiplied by aging for 5 years - this is the recipe for real Armenian cognac. The high recognition and value of this alcohol is due to the use of grapes grown in the best conditions and strict quality control by the manufacturer.

This drink is great for an aperitif and is great to drink both in combination with various ingredients and separately.

Regardless of the type, Noy cognac is one of the most famous strong Armenian alcoholic drinks. Thanks to its excellent quality, it has rightfully won its place on store shelves from Russia to Israel.

How to distinguish a fake?

Unfortunately, the high demand for this drink contributes to the active activity of scammers. Armenia is not capable of growing as many high-quality grapes as this cognac is sold. Finding an original drink is difficult, not only in Belarus, but even in Armenia itself. In order to truly experience the exquisite taste, you should pay attention to the following factors:

  1. Real cognac is always a little thick. If you shake the bottle thoroughly, small bubbles will appear, slowly rising to the top and remaining there for a period of time.
  2. There are no cracks or other types of damage on the surface of the bottle.
  3. A tax stamp is affixed to the bottle.
  4. The label is glued on the conveyor and should not be bent.
  5. The barcode is scanned without problems.
  6. The original Noah cognac has a lid made of cork and covered with a protective film.
  7. There is no sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

If the appearance of the bottle and the alcohol itself is beyond doubt, pour a little drink into a glass and let it sit for 15–20 minutes. If the smell of kerosene or other chemicals appears, this is a fake. To avoid such problems, do not go for low prices and purchase alcohol only in trusted specialized stores.

How to distinguish fake Noah cognac and not run into a fake?

There are not enough grapes growing in Armenia to fill all of Russia and the CIS countries with Noy cognac. Even in Armenia it is difficult to buy original Noy cognac, let alone Russia and Belarus. Fake Noah is already being imported into Belarus (apparently, there is simply no original Noah in Belarus, and we are talking only about the quality of the fake); in Russia it is extremely difficult to find an original drink.

High-quality Noah cognac will be somewhat thick, denser than water: to check this, just shake the bottle well: small small bubbles should appear, which will slowly rise to the surface, stay there for a while.

The label should be glued as evenly as possible, the barcode and security code should be easy to read and scan. Bottles must not have any defects. The lid of the original Noah cognac is covered with film. The lid itself was made of cork; if you bought Noah cognac with a screw-on metal lid, you have a surrogate.
