Dynamic ambitions are revealed to the viewer when viewing the car from the side. The glazing is made in a very elegant way, the wheel arches look quite powerful, the doors are thought out very competently, beautiful wheel disks made of light alloy metal, the roof smoothly descends, and the equipment decided to make the hood very short. In general, this hatchback looks quite charged. But if you look closely at the plastic body kits, it becomes clear that a compact crossover appeared before your eyes.

Designers should be commended for the design of the front of the car. They managed to create a clearly original image, attractively new. Usually, all the attention of designers is focused on the front end, and the main features, grace and power, as a rule, end up in the front part of the brainchild of one or another car company. But here, oddly enough, the back looks more interesting. It is even surprising that in some places it smells of modern solutions from Alfa Romeo. The tailgate with a small spoiler on top looks very neat, the headlights were designed in the form of drops, the bumper was hung quite powerful, all the outlines turned out to be very original.

If we evaluate the overall composition of the external appearance of the new Lifan X50, then without hesitation we can put the highest score for the skill of designers and decorators.

As already mentioned, the car can be attributed to the named class with a very big stretch, rather it is a pseudo-crossover. To prove this fact, it is worth citing numbers indicating its dimensions, then everything will become clear for sure.

Here, the bar set by the exterior is kept at the same level quite worthily: original design and technical solutions, decent ergonomics and bright decoration.

The dashboard, together with the center console, looks very advantageous due to the competent distribution of control buttons over their body. Thus, the feeling of excessive fullness and massiveness of space completely disappeared. Plus, the bright yellow illumination of the instrument panel and the reduced steering wheel look interesting. So we decided to give the driver's seat a sporty spirit.

Since we are talking about a Chinese car, it is quite expected that there will be some negative points. One of them can be considered too flat front seats, there is practically no lateral support, it was only slightly outlined by shallow lines on the seats and backrest. But there is a microlift and an adjustable column that allow you to adjust the driver's seat according to the parameters of height, weight, dimensions and other individual indicators.

As can be seen from the dimension table, wheelbase small, so there is no special space. These seats are more suitable for three people of average height and decent physical harmony, but more well-fed passengers are unlikely to be able to sit here with proper comfort.

The luggage compartment in the standard position shows a good volume of 570 liters. With the rear seats folded down, it will, of course, increase, but you should not count on a perfectly flat surface, because the backrest will protrude quite high.

This is explained by the atmospheric engine running on gasoline. Its capacity is only 1.5 liters, the power is 103 hp, and the torque is at around 133 Nm. It combines with CVT variator or with a 5 speed manual transmission. The buyer can choose this component himself. The crossover will consume about 6.5 liters of fuel in mixed mode, according to representatives of the Chinese company.

To be honest, Russian consumers are still lucky, because in their homeland the car is presented with an even less attractive power unit. The gasoline engine there holds only 1.3 liters, the power indicator stopped at 94 hp, and the torque is 119 Nm, besides, it only works with a manual gearbox.

What is the result

If you look, the Chinese novelty looks pretty tolerable and in some places even attractive, for a certain segment, of course. Its cost is quite democratic, which very few similar cars can boast of. All indicators of finishing, design and equipment are performed at a good level, even the power corresponds to the dimensions and weight. In general, the demand for this model will undoubtedly be good.

Its expressive design looks great both in the "urban jungle" and off the paved roads. As for the stern, comparisons with Kia Sportage. At the rear of the Lifan X50, a compact tailgate and horizontally oriented teardrop-shaped two-section lights are installed. A single round exhaust pipe is visible from under the bumper, and 15-inch alloy wheels are installed on the wheels from the factory.

In general, the image of the Lifan X50 is a kind of hodgepodge, but the manufacturer managed to avoid complete copying and maintain a certain balance, so the crossover looks quite stylish and youthful.


Once in the interior of the new Lifan X 50, many are surprised to note the presence of leather seat trim on the budget model, but hard and sonorous plastic, which is used everywhere, returns to earth from heaven. However, the interior itself has a rather nice design.

More expensive versions of the Lifan X50 come with a full multimedia system, the functionality of which can be controlled both from the touchpad on the center console and from the three-spoke multifunction steering wheel.

Characteristics

Being built on the basis of the Lifan Celliya sedan, the Lifan X 50 pseudo-crossover reaches a length, width and height of 4,100, 1,722 and 1,540 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase of the car is 2,550 millimeters.

The curb weight of the hatchback is 1,150 kg, while the Chinese say that the car is based on a high-strength body with programmable deformation, which distributes impact energy more efficiently in collisions.

The suspension design is quite standard: classic McPherson type struts are used on the front axle, and a semi-independent torsion beam at the rear. Disc brakes are installed on all wheels. High ground clearance of 185 mm allows the car to feel confident on rough terrain.

By default, the trunk volume of the new Lifan X50 is 280 liters. If necessary, the back of the rear sofa can be folded to the floor - then the capacity of the cargo compartment will increase to 1,480 liters.

My X50 today has about 30,000 miles. I have been satisfied with the car for two years. We went south twice, the car easily withstood 4,000 km in one sitting. All electrical is working properly. I bought a car in October 2016, luxury equipment. The assembly of the electronics is very poor. Initially, the heating of the driver's mirror did not work and the heating of the passenger seat was constantly on. The main drawback is the lack of any sound insulation. Feeling like riding a bike. Consumption is now 7.2 liters on the highway, but they say it will drop after 20,000 km. Something like that.
